AETOXYLON
Aetoxylon is a woody material with earthy and sometimes smoky or animalic facets. It may recall aspects of oud, but it should not be treated as another name for Aquilaria agarwood. Its woody character can appeal to those drawn to darker, less sweet fragrance textures.
The name refers to Aetoxylon sympetalum. Natural oil obtained from its wood is commercially available, including steam-distilled material; it is not necessarily an invented accord. Products and extraction methods can yield different nuances. As with other listed notes, the name alone does not prove that a perfume contains a particular natural oil.
