AMBERWOOD
Amberwood describes the meeting of wood-like dryness and ambery warmth. It can suggest a firm, radiant woody texture rather than the rounded sweetness of vanilla and balsamic resins. The name does not identify one tree or one universal fragrance molecule.
Perfumers have several woody-amber materials available, each with its own character. An amberwood note can therefore vary from smooth to more assertive according to the blend. Look at the accompanying notes: sweet resins may round it out, while dry woods can emphasise its sharper side. The label alone is not a promise of strength, longevity or a particular ingredient source.
