AMBREXOLIDE (MUSK)

AmbreXolide is a Givaudan musk material with fruity nuances described as pear and raspberry. Despite the beginning of its name, it belongs with musk materials rather than a sweet resinous amber accord. Its fruity side can add another dimension to a musky fragrance texture.

Givaudan introduced it in 2022 as an alternative to ambrettolide. The two names should not be treated as interchangeable, and a reference to AmbreXolide does not mean a perfume contains ambrette seed oil. The balance of fruitiness and musk depends on the composition; the note does not predict a fixed projection or wear time.
