CAJÁ (HOG PLUM)

Cajá, also called hog plum or yellow mombin, offers a sweet, fruity reference with a slight resinous edge. Research on its pulp describes a faint turpentine-like nuance alongside the fruit sweetness. This gives the inspiration more definition than a generic tropical fruit label: the aromatic contrast matters as much as the sweetness.

The fruit is Spondias mombin. Aroma analysis has identified fruity-smelling compounds together with contributors to green, citrus-like and resinous facets; these findings describe the fruit, not a standard perfume formula. A fragrance can interpret the idea selectively, emphasising the sweet fruit or its sharper aromatic shading. The note name does not establish a commercial fruit extract, an extraction process or a fixed blend of mango, pineapple and apple.
