CARAMEL
Caramel gives perfume the impression of cooked sugar and sweet confectionery. It can feel rich and syrupy, with a darker sugar edge; creamier interpretations soften that effect with vanilla-like tones. These variations matter: the name alone does not tell you whether the fragrance will suggest a glossy caramel sauce or lean towards a more browned-sugar impression.
The note describes a scent effect composed for perfume, rather than a required food ingredient or a single standard formula. A caramel impression need not contain every buttery, milky or vanilla facet associated with caramel desserts. When exploring fragrances with this note, consider how much of the composition centres on sweetness and whether the caramel feels creamy or more distinctly cooked.
