COASTAL MOSS (AUSTRALIA)
Australian coastal moss is a fragrance-note name that places a moss impression in a fresh, aquatic setting. Think of a shore-inspired composition in which moss, sea-air freshness and aromatic surroundings form an overall picture. The term is used by Goldfield & Banks in a fragrance inspired by Australia’s South Coast, alongside citrus, herbs, woods and musk.
The name is more useful as an olfactory theme than as a botanical specification. It does not identify a moss species, disclose a formula or establish that a natural coastal-moss extract has been used. Nor does it make coastal moss a standardised substitute for oakmoss. How green, woody or marine the perfume feels depends on the complete composition.
