COFFEE LIQUEUR

Coffee liqueur in perfume combines a roasted coffee impression with sweetness and a suggestion of spirits. It can feel dark and syrupy, with vanilla or chocolate-like rounding, rather than simply dry ground beans. The balance matters: a pronounced coffee edge may cut through the sweetness, while a softer treatment can suggest a dessert drink. Here, “boozy” describes an aromatic impression, not an intoxicating effect.

The inspiration is a sweet alcoholic coffee drink. Kahlúa, for example, describes its rum-and-coffee liqueur through coffee, vanilla and chocolate flavours. In fragrance, Kilian’s Black Phantom pairs coffee with a rum accord and sweet notes, illustrating how these themes can meet. Such examples do not define a standard coffee-liqueur extract or recipe. The note does not mean bottled liqueur was added to the perfume.
