CORIANDER SEEDS
Coriander seeds bring a spice character with sweetness, peppery brightness and soft wood-like warmth. The smell can recall seeds crushed just before cooking, yet its rounded, balsamic side also sits comfortably among floral and woody notes. “Balsamic” here means a mellow, resin-like sweetness rather than a vinegar smell. In a perfume, the seed character can add definition to a bouquet or soften the transition into warmer notes.
The seeds of Coriandrum sativum supply steam-distilled essential oil as well as CO₂ extracts. Eden Botanicals describes its CO₂ grade as fuller than its own distilled oil; that is a comparison of specific materials, not a rule for every supplier. Coriander leaf oil is a separate material.
