COTTON FLOWER

Cotton flower is a soft floral perfume theme that can suggest the feel of clean, fluffy fabric. Powdery petals and rounded musk are useful reference points, sometimes accompanied by a little vanilla sweetness or fresh brightness. The emphasis is often on texture: a smooth, cushioned impression rather than a strongly defined blossom or a sugary cotton-candy smell.

For Solinotes Fleur de Coton, perfumer Irène describes recreating cotton’s supple texture through rose, violet and rice-powder impressions, with musk and a touch of vanilla. This is one interpretation, not a standard recipe. A cotton flower note does not establish the literal scent of every cotton blossom or the presence of a botanical extract. The balance between freshness, powder and sweetness varies with the composition.
