CREAM
Cream in perfume evokes a smooth, milky richness, from a soft dairy impression to a sweeter dessert-like accord. It can suggest the roundness of fresh cream without the caramelised sugar of custard or the vanilla sweetness associated with Chantilly. Those facets may be added by the surrounding composition; they are not all built into the word cream.
Published perfume descriptions show the range: PHLUR places coconut cream and whipped cream among the notes of Heavy Cream, while Jousset pairs fresh cream with caramelised sugar in Crème Brûlée. These are different interpretations of a creamy food reference, rather than a single standard recipe. A listed cream note does not establish that dairy cream is an ingredient. Its milky texture is an impression conveyed by scent.
