Crème brûlée in perfume evokes two contrasting dessert impressions: smooth vanilla custard and the darker sweetness of caramelised sugar. The creamy part suggests richness and softness, while a browned-sugar edge can keep the idea from reading as plain whipped cream. “Burnt” in this context points to the dessert’s sugar crust, not necessarily smoke or an acrid fragrance.

Jousset’s interpretation explicitly combines fresh cream, vanilla custard and burnt sugar crust, with whipped cream and Bourbon vanilla also in its note list. That example illustrates the central contrast without establishing a recipe for every crème brûlée accord. The balance may favour milky vanilla or more toasted caramel, depending on the composition. This is a dessert-inspired olfactory theme; the name alone does not show that custard, eggs or cream are ingredients in the perfume.
