NARCISSUS (DAFFODIL)
Narcissus can bring a rich green floral scent with honeyed warmth and a dry, hay-like undertone. The combination suggests flowers among grasses: the honey impression softens the green edge, while the hay facet gives the floral theme a drier texture. It need not smell like a faint, purely fresh spring blossom.
Daffodil is a common name for plants of the genus Narcissus, which includes different species and cultivated forms. One documented perfumery material is IFF LMR’s French Narcissus poeticus flower absolute, made by solvent extraction followed by alcohol purification. Its profile provides a useful reference for this green, honeyed interpretation, rather than a description of every garden variety. In a perfume, the surrounding notes may emphasise floral richness or greener dryness; the note name alone does not establish that this particular absolute is present.
