DEW DROP

Dew drop is a perfume image of fine moisture on petals: delicate, fresh and lightly watery. It can make a floral scent feel newly opened, with space around the blossom rather than a dense, syrupy texture. Dolce&Gabbana uses the image of dew on petals to describe the fresh rose character of Velvet Rose, illustrating how the idea can be expressed within a floral composition.

The name describes an olfactory effect, not a botanical species or a recipe made from collected dew. Its character depends on the surrounding fragrance: greener notes can suggest damp stems, while soft flowers can make it more petal-like. A dew impression need not imply salty sea air, a particular aquatic molecule or a fixed place in a perfume’s development.
