DRIED FRUITS
Dried fruits suggest a concentrated, sweet fruit impression: think raisins, dates or dried figs rather than a splash of freshly squeezed juice. The effect can feel rounded and dense, bringing a food-like richness to a perfume. Serge Lutens uses dates, dried figs and raisins among the references for Arabie, alongside spices such as cumin. That setting shows how dried-fruit sweetness can meet an aromatic, savoury edge.
This is a broad scent description, not the name of one fruit species or extract. Different compositions may emphasise different fruits, and the note list does not reveal which materials create the effect. It also need not mean caramelised sugar: drying and caramelisation are different ideas. Spices or dry woods can sharpen the contrast with the fruit, while sweeter balsamic companions can make its rounded texture more prominent.
