EGLANTINE ROSE (SWEET BRIAR)

Eglantine rose, also called sweet briar, refers here to Rosa rubiginosa. Its fragrant pink flowers and apple-scented foliage offer two different points of inspiration: rose petals on one hand, leafy fruitiness on the other. The apple association belongs particularly to the leaves; it should not be treated as a claim that every blossom smells like apple or that the perfume contains apple extract.

A fragrance interpretation can bring a greener, more open-air impression to a rose accord. It may sit beside fresh fruit or softer flowers, depending on the composition. The plant also produces rose hips after flowering, but a floral note is distinct from a fruit or seed-oil reference.
