FINGER LIME (BYRON BAY, AUSTRALIA)

Finger lime brings a bright citrus impression, with the lively freshness associated with this Australian fruit. In Goldfield & Banks’ interpretation, its citrus character meets aromatic coriander and a background of vetiver, cedarwood and sandalwood. This gives a useful example of fresh lime against drier, softer woods, rather than treating the note as a sweet tropical fruit accord.

Citrus australasica grows naturally in rainforest regions of eastern Australia, particularly southeastern Queensland and northeastern New South Wales. Its elongated fruit contains pulp with a caviar-like appearance. Goldfield & Banks identifies Byron Bay as the origin of its finger-lime reference. That location does not make the note a separate species or establish a universal formula, extraction method or level of intensity for every perfume using the name.
