FRANGIPANI
Frangipani refers to flowers of Plumeria and their interpretation in perfume. The floral character can feel warm and full, with jasmine-like and fruity nuances: Eden Botanicals describes those facets in its documented Plumeria alba absolute. A perfume may surround the note with other flowers or emphasize a fruit accent, as Ormonde Jayne does with plum in its own frangipani composition. That surrounding fruit is a creative choice, not a required part of every frangipani note.
Natural frangipani absolutes are documented, so the note should not automatically be understood as a wholly recreated flower. Equally, its presence in a note list does not identify the material used. The familiar tropical association is distinct from native origin: Plumeria rubra, for example, is native from Mexico to Venezuela. Explore frangipani for its warm floral character rather than a promise of one fixed bouquet.
