HAZEL WOOD

Hazel wood in perfume is a woody idea that can feel warm and rounded, with a lightly gourmand accent. L’Artisan Parfumeur describes its hazel-wood note in those terms, connecting the edible suggestion to hazelnut. Think of nutty warmth woven into a woody setting, rather than assuming the full sweetness of a roasted-hazelnut dessert. The emphasis depends on the perfumer’s interpretation.

The name points to hazel wood, but fragrance vocabulary does not always separate wood and nut impressions neatly. Some houses explicitly use the term hazel-wood accord, meaning a composed olfactory effect. That is not evidence of a specific essential oil, extraction method or natural ingredient in the bottle. Read the surrounding notes to see whether the woody theme is placed among fresh greenery, flowers or sweeter materials; these companions can change how its warmth is perceived.
