HEDIONE
Hedione® has a transparent jasmine-like scent with a refreshing citrus hint. Transparent here means an airy floral impression, suggesting light passing between petals rather than a dense bouquet. Its manufacturer, dsm-firmenich, describes a white-flower effect and a silky quality. These facets make it useful when a perfume needs floral presence with a sense of space.
Hedione is a synthetic fragrance material, not jasmine essential oil or an extract of the flower. Perfumers use it in jasmine and other white-flower reconstructions, and to enhance the floral character of a composition.
