INCENSE FUSION™

Incense Fusion™ is a proprietary incense-amber perfumery material from CPL Aromas’ AromaFusion range, characterized by a tenacious resinous structure enriched with deep fruit, spice, contemporary amber, and leather-like facets. Its scent is warm, balsamic, resinous, spicy, and richly ambery, blending impressions of incense smoke, labdanum-like resin, frankincense, dark fruits, warm spices, amber, balsamic woods, and polished leather. Unlike a straightforward Frankincense note, which can be cool, terpenic, citrusy, and mineral-smoky, Incense Fusion™ presents a broader, darker, and more sensual interpretation of incense, surrounding resinous freshness with fruit, spice, leather, and persistent amber warmth. CPL officially describes it as a tenacious fusion of natural resinous amber notes with deep fruit and spice tones, finished with contemporary amber facets that impart a rich leather character to the base. The material has also been described in perfumery use as bringing an intense cistus and frankincense character, reinforcing its balsamic and incense-centered identity. Used primarily as a base note, it provides persistence, resinous depth, leathery darkness, and oriental warmth, while allowing incense effects to extend smoothly into woody and amber structures.

History & Production: Incense Fusion™ is not a single natural incense extract, but a captive specialty composition belonging to CPL Aromas’ AromaFusion technology, a palette of proprietary materials reserved for CPL perfumers. Its complete formula is proprietary, so it is more accurate not to assign it an invented list of individual molecules or natural ingredients. What CPL does disclose is its architecture of natural resinous amber character, deep fruit and spice tones, contemporary amber effects, and a rich leathery base. This multifaceted construction gives the material greater breadth than a conventional incense note: resinous and balsamic facets establish its core, fruit and spice provide warmth and complexity, and modern amber-leather effects give the drydown substantial persistence and sensuality. Its use in Halfeti Leather was specifically described as enriching that fragrance’s oriental character alongside another CPL captive, Cedar Fusion. In fragrance design, Incense Fusion™ blends beautifully with bergamot, plum, black pepper, saffron, rose, frankincense, cistus-labdanum effects, cedarwood, patchouli, oud, leather, sandalwood, amber, and musk, creating a dark resinous-amber signature—the scent of smoldering incense resins wrapped in spiced fruit, burnished leather, and glowing amber, opulent, mysterious, and enduring.
