LAVENDER ORPUR®

Lavender Orpur® refers to lavender within Givaudan’s selected collection of natural fragrance materials. Its character combines the floral and aromatic sides of lavender rather than suggesting a new plant species. Givaudan’s French lavender oil in the collection is described as gently powdery and floral, with herbal freshness, woody tones and a camphoraceous edge. Sweet hay-like facets add another possible dimension to this aromatic profile.

Orpur® is Givaudan’s label: its materials are selected and reviewed by a committee of fine-fragrance perfumers and technical specialists. The documented French lavender oil comes from Lavandula angustifolia flowering tops and is produced by steam distillation. The label identifies a supplier selection, not a universal botanical grade or a promise of longer-lasting perfume. In a composition, the chosen lavender material can connect bright aromatic freshness with a softer floral or woody impression.
