LEMON BLOSSOM

Lemon blossom joins a soft floral impression to the brightness of lemon, sometimes with a leafy green accent. It can recall orange blossom while keeping a distinct citrus lift, rather than smelling only of freshly cut fruit. In a perfume, this balance may soften a sharp lemon theme or give a floral composition a clearer, fresher edge. The emphasis can move between petals, citrus and leaves according to the blend.

Perfumers can recreate this flower as an accord: several materials combined to suggest one recognisable scent. Fragonard’s perfumer describes bringing together orange-blossom, petitgrain and lemon impressions for her interpretation. Lemon petitgrain itself comes from distilled leaves and twigs, not flowers. That example explains how different parts of a citrus tree can inform a blossom effect; it is not a standard recipe for every lemon blossom note or proof of a flower extract in a fragrance.
