LORENOX®

Lorenox is a named perfumery material with leather, wood and amber facets. It can give an amber-wood composition a more leathery texture, connecting warm depth with a drier, tactile impression. That combination is more informative than treating the name as a general synonym for ambergris.

Lalique describes Lorenox among the woody amber molecules in one of its compositions, while assigning ambergris tones to a separate material, Orcanox. This distinction matters: related effects in a perfume do not make the materials identical. The leather and amber descriptions are scent comparisons, not evidence of animal leather or natural ambergris. How prominent Lorenox feels depends on the complete formula, and the note alone cannot tell you how strong or long-lasting the finished fragrance will be.
