MAPLE SYRUP

Maple syrup suggests warm, concentrated sweetness with associations of caramel, toffee and vanilla. Its food inspiration has a more varied aromatic character than plain sugar, so a perfume interpretation can feel rounded and layered rather than simply sweet. Around coffee, woods or suede-like notes, the syrup impression may provide a rich contrast; paired with creamy vanilla, it can lean further towards dessert. These are compositional possibilities, not a fixed recipe.

The syrup itself comes from maple sap, but its name in a fragrance describes a smell rather than confirming actual syrup in the bottle. Perfumery materials can evoke that effect: a supplier, for example, documents a maple-syrup odour for its Maple Lactone blend. The note is distinct from maple wood, and neither its sweetness nor its strength is identical in every perfume.
