MARIGOLD (TAGETES)

Tagetes combines green, herbaceous character with a surprisingly fruity side. A documented perfumery oil suggests apple and apricot with a trace of mango, alongside floral and fresh minty facets. It is therefore more than a simple soft-flower note: its lively greenery can give fruit or flowers a sharper contour, while its fruity side can connect with warmer woody accords. The balance depends on the material and the way it is used.

Givaudan’s Tagetes Oil Extra comes from Tagetes minuta flowering tops, processed by steam distillation. This is a specific natural material within the broader marigold name, not a description of every flower called marigold. The Tagetes qualifier identifies the intended botanical group here. A fragrance listing still does not establish a particular species, supplier or natural oil in the finished perfume.
