MELON
Melon in perfume suggests juicy fruit with a fresh, watery impression. It can lean towards ripe sweetness or a greener, cooler effect reminiscent of cucumber. Demeter’s honeydew interpretation focuses on ripe, mouthwatering fruit, showing the succulent side of the idea without defining every melon fragrance.
The note can be built with fragrance materials that recreate selected aspects of the fruit. Melonal, for example, is an aldehyde that Symrise describes through melon, green, cucumber and ozonic facets; ozonic here suggests airy freshness. It is one possible material, not a required ingredient or another name for the whole melon accord. The balance of sweetness and green freshness depends on the composition. A melon note does not identify a particular fruit variety, extraction method or fixed position in the fragrance.
