MIMOSA
Mimosa has a powdery floral character with a soft honeyed sweetness. It can also show almond-like warmth, a green leaf edge or a gently spicy facet. The powdery effect suggests a soft, dry texture rather than a sharp, watery flower; the greener side can keep that sweetness from feeling one-dimensional.
The perfumery name refers to fragrant acacias, including Acacia dealbata, the silver wattle native to southeastern Australia. It is also cultivated in southern France. A natural absolute can be obtained by solvent extraction of flowering branches, as described by Maison Francis Kurkdjian. Supplier materials differ, and some mimosa products are blends built around an absolute. The note does not identify one grade or guarantee a natural extract in every perfume; its floral, honeyed and green balance depends on the composition.
