MINERAL NOTES

Mineral notes describe a stony impression in perfume. Flint is one expression: a firm, dry edge that can make citrus feel more sharply outlined and give woody notes a more angular character. The effect is less a recognisable plant aroma than a suggestion of texture, like the hard surface of stone.

A mineral accord is a blend of fragrant materials that creates this impression, not evidence of extracted rock in the bottle. Its surroundings matter: citrus can emphasise its brightness, while woods and balsamic sweetness can make it feel denser or softer. Mineral does not name one standard formula, and the label alone does not tell you whether a fragrance will be salty, metallic or aquatic.
