MOSSY WOODY NOTES
Mossy woody notes combine the structure of wood with the earthy texture of moss. Imagine dry bark and woody grain set against damp leaves or shaded soil: the interest lies in that contrast, rather than one isolated tree scent. Some versions feel dry and firm; others bring a softer, more humid impression. A leathery nuance may deepen the blend without making every example smoky or dark.
Oakmoss and treemoss extracts are examples of materials used for this effect; despite their names, their source material is lichen.
