MUD ACCORD

Mud accord evokes wet earth: dark soil, damp leaves and the close, earthy smell of a forest floor. It can bring a moist, almost tactile quality to perfume, suggesting ground softened by rain. Depending on the composition, that earthy presence may feel dense or appear as a quieter contrast to brighter notes.

This is a constructed scent idea, with no single standard recipe. Perfume houses can set a mud accord beside fruit and flowers, allowing their sweetness to stand against its earthy character. The label does not mean that mud is used as an ingredient, nor does it identify the molecules in the accord. Its balance with the rest of the fragrance determines how strongly the impression of wet ground comes through.
