NARGILEH ACCORD

Nargileh accord takes its inspiration from the smell of a hookah, also called a water pipe: sweetened tobacco with a smoky atmosphere. Fruit, honey-like sweetness or warm spices may colour the impression. Its appeal in perfume lies in the contrast between rounded sweetness and the drier, darker suggestion of smoke.

There is no single recipe for this accord. Perfumers interpret the idea with combinations of fragrant materials, adjusting the balance of tobacco, fruit and sweetness. An apple variation makes the fruit more specific, while a broader nargileh note leaves it open. These are scent descriptions, not evidence that a perfume contains a smoking mixture or captures actual smoke. The surrounding composition determines whether the effect feels mainly fruity, sweet, spicy or smoky.
