OLIVE

Olive can suggest green fruit with a grassy edge and a soft, oily richness. This is a scent impression, not a prediction that a perfume will feel greasy. Fraterworks’ olive fruit absolute, made from Olea europaea, illustrates the combination with ripe-olive, leafy and creamy nuances. It offers a different direction from a purely crisp leaf note.

Olive-derived aromatic materials do exist: Eurofragance also makes Olivante from pulp left after olive-oil extraction. That material has its own profile and is not a synonym for every olive note. Depending on the composition, an olive impression may bring leafy freshness or rounded fruitiness forward. The note name alone does not tell you whether the perfume contains a fruit extract, a particular branded material or an accord.
