PALM LEAVES
Palm leaves in perfume evoke fresh tropical foliage, with a green, lightly dewy character. Think of the leafy part of an island landscape rather than the creamy sweetness of coconut flesh. Heeley, for example, presents palm leaves as greenery touched by morning dew, separately from the coconut and gardenia in its composition.
This leafy impression can give a tropical fragrance a fresher counterpoint to sweet fruit or creamy flowers. Alongside woods, it may suggest vegetation and shade. The name describes an idea of foliage, not one specified palm species or extraction method, and does not establish that a leaf extract is present. The surrounding notes determine how crisp, soft or watery the overall effect becomes.
