PASSION FRUIT
Passion fruit brings juicy tropical sweetness with a tart edge. It can suggest fragrant fruit pulp without the creamy weight of coconut or a purely sugary impression. Victoria’s Secret describes purple passion fruit as sweet, tart and bright in its fragrance, a useful example of the note’s sparkling fruity direction.
The familiar fruit comes from Passiflora edulis, grown in purple- and yellow-fruited forms. A passion fruit note refers to the fruit impression, not automatically to the plant’s flowers or a particular extract. It can brighten a floral bouquet, but is not confined to light fruity perfumes: Nishane places it with citrus, saffron and leather. The formula decides whether the result feels freshly juicy, sweet or more richly contrasted.
