PEBBLES

Pebbles in perfume is an image of stone translated into scent. It can suggest a mineral, stony impression or the atmosphere of a salty shoreline, rather than a recognisable flower or fruit. Hermès uses salty seaside pebbles to describe Eau des Merveilles Bleue alongside juniper and patchouli, placing the idea within a mineral-woody composition.

Here, mineral describes an olfactory association, not a named pebble extract or one standard aroma molecule. The surrounding ingredients can make the stone image feel cooler, warmer, drier or more coastal. A pebble note does not by itself establish a wet-earth smell, a metallic facet or a particular recipe.
