PLUM

Plum in perfume suggests rounded, juicy fruit sweetness. It can give a floral composition a fuller fruit impression, or stand against drier notes that make the sweetness feel more pronounced. The label covers an interpretation of the fruit rather than one fixed material: a bright mirabelle-style accord and a darker plum theme need not smell identical.

Two perfume-house examples show that range. Afnan places plum beside rose and jasmine in Supremacy Tapis Rouge. Mugler’s Naughty Fruity contrasts a juicy mirabelle plum accord with olibanum, then suede and tobacco, bringing fruit into a smoky setting. These are compositional choices, not properties present in every plum note. Neither the name nor the fruity impression proves the use of plum extract, and the note need not be confined to a perfume’s heart or base.
