POMAROSE

Pomarose is a fragrance molecule developed by Givaudan, with a rich fruity character that brings together rose and an apple-pie impression. The apple side is therefore not limited to the crisp freshness of a newly cut fruit: the comparison also suggests a fuller, sweeter, food-like direction. The rose facet gives that fruitiness a floral connection.

Givaudan introduced Pomarose to its perfumers’ palette in 2005 and described its relevance to gourmand fragrances, the family inspired by edible aromas. In a composition, it can help connect a rose theme with a richer fruit effect; surrounding materials determine which facet becomes most noticeable. Pomarose is a named aroma material, not an extract made by mixing apples and rose petals, and its name does not define the complete formula or performance of a finished perfume.
