QUINCE

Quince in perfume draws on a highly aromatic fruit, botanically Cydonia oblonga. Its interpretation can feel fresh and green or develop a richer, spiced fruit character within a composition. These are different ways of presenting the fruit, rather than a single recipe that every fragrance shares.

Chanel describes a grapefruit–quince accord in Chance Eau Tendre Eau de Toilette, where the green fruit theme meets jasmine and white musk. Xerjoff places quince alongside cardamom and saffron in Dolce Amalfi, with warmer balsamic and vanilla-tonka surroundings. These examples offer a useful choice when browsing: a bright fruit-and-flower direction or fruit framed by spice and warmth. The note names an olfactory idea; it does not establish that quince extract is present, how it was obtained or a fixed position in every perfume.
