Rosehip refers to the fruit that develops after a rose flowers. As a perfume note, it brings a different botanical reference from rose petals, but the name does not define a single standardized scent. A house may place it in a soft, dewy floral setting with lavender and jasmine, for example; those surrounding notes shape the effect.

Rosehip seed oil is a separate material. One CO2-extracted seed oil has a light vegetal, dry woody aroma and is used as a carrier oil, rather than as rose-flower essential oil. A rosehip note does not confirm that this oil is present.
