ROSE AND PLUM

Rose and plum is a floral-fruity theme, bringing the idea of rose petals together with a rounded plum impression. The fruit can lend a sweet, almost creamy feel without turning the whole perfume into a dessert. OJAR’s Wood Whisper, for example, lists both notes and describes a creamy plum effect within a sandalwood-led composition.

The relationship also appears in aroma materials: damascenone has documented rose and plum facets. This does not mean every rose-and-plum perfume contains it, or that the note names a single extract or botanical variety. It describes an olfactory combination whose construction varies. When comparing fragrances, look at whether floral rose, soft fruit or the supporting woods take the lead; the name alone does not promise a jammy texture, strength or lasting time.
