EGYPTIAN SANDALWOOD

Egyptian sandalwood is used as a fragrance name for interpretations of sandalwood, with soft woody warmth and possible creamy sweetness. Some versions introduce a brighter, almost citrus-like edge rather than concentrating only on dense wood. In a composition, green notes may lift that softness, while amber can make the surrounding scent feel warmer and more rounded.

The name is not a botanical species or a guarantee that sandalwood trees were grown in Egypt. Perfume makers use it within their own sandalwood blends, and those interpretations need not share the same ingredients or extraction process. It is therefore more useful to explore the scent’s balance of brightness, creamy texture and wood than to infer a particular plantation, natural oil or historical recipe from the label.
