SEA DAFFODIL

Sea daffodil suggests a delicate floral scent with a transparent, almost watery quality. Its coastal setting can bring an impression of warm sand and open air around the petals, rather than turning the flower into a strongly salty marine note. In perfume, this contrast between fresh transparency and gentle warmth can create a luminous floral character.

The botanical reference is Pancratium maritimum, also called sea lily, a Mediterranean plant distinct from the Narcissus genus. Jo Malone London documents an accord created by Alexis Dadier to evoke both the flower and its sandy surroundings, using ylang-ylang, vanilla and creamy sandalwood as part of that interpretation. This is one construction, not a universal formula. The note identifies a floral inspiration and does not confirm that the finished perfume contains an extract of sea daffodil.
