SKIN ACCORD

A skin accord suggests the warmth and softness of skin through a composed scent. It may feel gently musky, creamy or slightly sweet, creating a smooth background around flowers or woods. The effect can be intimate without being scentless: a milky interpretation feels different from a drier musk, and the surrounding notes help determine how warm or fresh the result seems.

An accord is a combination of fragrance materials designed to create an impression, not an extract of skin. Perfume houses use the idea in different ways: CLEAN places a warm skin accord among soft flowers and musks, while Etat Libre d’Orange describes a milky skin accord alongside jasmine. Neither example defines a universal formula. The term describes an olfactory idea and does not guarantee that a perfume stays close to the body, lasts a particular time or reproduces everyone’s natural scent.
