SOURSOP (GUANÁBANA)

Soursop, also called guanábana or graviola, inspires a tropical fruit impression that balances juicy sweetness with a tangy edge. Its pale pulp suggests a softer, rounded fruit texture, while the fruit’s aroma has been compared with pineapple. In perfume, that contrast can give a fruity composition both brightness and a gentler, pulpy quality, without making it simply a pineapple note.

The fruit comes from Annona muricata, a tree native to tropical America. A fragrance listing refers to an interpretation of the fruit rather than confirming an extract or a particular manufacturing method. Christian Provenzano lists soursop among the fruit notes of Guanabana, alongside spices and a woody, resinous background. That example shows the note need not be confined to light tropical compositions. Its sweetness, creaminess and prominence depend on the whole formula.
