STYRAX
Styrax is a warm, resinous fragrance note known for its rich, balsamic, and slightly sweet aroma with hints of vanilla and a touch of smokiness. History & Production: Styrax is derived from the resin of the Liquidambar tree, commonly found in regions such as the Middle East and parts of Asia. The resin is harvested by making incisions in the tree's bark, allowing the sap to exude and harden before collection. The essential oil or resinoid is obtained through steam distillation or solvent extraction, preserving its deep, balsamic aroma. Historically, styrax has been used in ancient rituals, medicine, and incense due to its warm, soothing scent. Today, it continues to be a valued ingredient in perfumery, lending a rich and luxurious touch to fragrance compositions.
