TEA
Tea in perfume covers more than one smell. It can suggest fresh green leaves, a dry herbal infusion or a deeper, slightly bitter impression, according to the tea reference and the way the perfume is built. Green, black, white and oolong teas come from Camellia sinensis, with processing helping create their different characters.
Perfumers can work with tea extracts or construct an accord that suggests tea using other aromatic materials. A leafy green interpretation may feel bright beside citrus and soft flowers; a fuller interpretation can emphasise dry herbal depth. Neither approach means every tea perfume is light, calming or confined to the heart notes. If you enjoy this family, consider whether you prefer the impression of fresh leaves or a more developed brew, and read the surrounding notes for how that idea is expressed.
