TOBACCO FLOWERS

Tobacco flowers, also called tobacco blossom, direct attention to the flowering plant rather than dried smoking tobacco. In perfume, the idea can feel floral and green, or richer and sweeter when framed by honey, fruit and other flowers. It is not a promise of a uniformly delicate scent: the material or accord chosen can change the effect substantially.

Both flower extracts and composed bases exist. Hermitage Oils offers a tobacco flower absolute labelled Nicotiana tabacum, describing green, fruity and cocoa-like facets alongside a gardenia impression. Fraterworks offers a composed tobacco-flower base with floral and green character. These are different materials, not interchangeable definitions of the note. Hiram Green’s Slowdive provides another setting, placing tobacco blossom among honey and tuberose. A flower note alone does not identify one species, confirm a particular extract or require the smoky character associated with some tobacco-leaf perfumes.
