TOFFEE

Toffee is a confectionery-inspired note that suggests warm, caramel-like sweetness. In a perfume it can feel rounded and creamy, especially when paired with vanilla or milky accords. It offers a cooked-sugar impression rather than simply labelling the whole fragrance sweet, although its richness depends on the rest of the composition.

Perfume houses place toffee in quite different surroundings. Xerjoff’s Italica combines it with vanilla, almond and milky notes, whereas Jimmy Choo Eau de Parfum places it alongside patchouli within a fruity floral composition. These examples show how toffee can support either a dessert-like theme or a more contrasted scent. The name describes an olfactory effect, not confectionery dissolved in perfume or a fixed ingredient formula. Caramel-scented materials can help build such accords, but the note alone does not reveal which ones a perfumer has chosen.
