VETIVER (RÉUNION)

Réunion vetiver connects a woody, green impression with the island’s tradition of aromatic roots. It belongs to the same grass-root scent family as other vetivers, not to a separate tree or spice. The green side can bring a sense of freshness to its woody character without making it a citrus note.

The island’s vetiver-growing heritage is also known through the historical name Bourbon. Roots are used to obtain the fragrant oil, but a perfume note is not a complete sourcing certificate. Cultivation origin, processing location and commercial material name may be different pieces of information. In a composition, look for how this rooty wood impression sits beside flowers, citrus or softer warmth. The Réunion label does not by itself prove superior quality, a fixed two-year harvest or longer-lasting perfume; those claims require details about the actual material and formula.
