VODKA

Vodka in perfume is an impression of the clear spirit: cool, transparent and lightly sharp, rather than a dense sweetness. It can suggest the chilled air above a glass poured over ice. The appeal lies in that sense of clarity and temperature, which a perfumer can place beside spices, flowers or woods without making the whole fragrance smell like a cocktail.

There is no single recipe for this effect. In Vodka on the Rocks, KILIAN PARIS describes an icy accord of cardamom and coriander, with brighter floral and rhubarb accents around it. That is one interpretation of the idea, not a formula for every vodka note. The name describes an olfactory accord; it does not prove that the drink itself is an ingredient. The sharpness and cooling impression depend on the composition.
